What are your payment protocols?

We require secure payment on file before completing any therapeutic work. This is done by a simple step of adding your credit card to our encrypted platform and secure platform Jane App. You have the right to remove authorization to your credit card at any point in time. Your card will be processed on the day of your booked appointment.

How much does it cost?

A session can range from $165-$235 per hour depending on your therapist and your service. Our prices range based on experience, level of specialized training, and number of people attending the sessions.

Does my insurance cover my session?

If you are covered by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) then you will be able to submit your invoices to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please note, it is the client's responsibility to ensure they are covered for their acquired sessions.

Do you do direct billing?

At this time we do not do direct billing. Please submit your paid invoice to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We are excited to share that we are currently working on launching our direct billing system.

How long is one session?

A billable counselling hour is 50 minutes. Our practitioners take time to consolidate session notes and revise treatment plans after your session is complete.

What can I expect in my first session?

The first session is establishing rapport and creating the foundation for your therapy journey. Your therapist will begin to collect the puzzles pieces of your life story, which is needed for them to create a personalized treatment plan. You will share your goals, challenges, and needs and leave with an understanding of how you could improve your life.

How often do I need to come to counselling?

To create a strong relationship and to allow your therapist to have the foundation to build off of we encourage booking sessions every 1 to 2 weeks at that start. As time goes on you will progress to every 3 weeks and then monthly for a maintenance phase. Consistency is key during the initial stages of your healing.

Therapy is an investment and can be costly. Coming infrequently is better than not at all - you will still get benefits. Your therapist will support you with your treatment plan in session that meets your personal financial abilities.

Can I end counselling at any time?

Yes. You are able to stop or pause your therapy journey at any point in time. You are in the driving seat with pace, frequency and depth of your sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations and rescheduling must be done 48 hours prior to your appointment. If you cancel within 48 hours you will be charged the full amount of your session, as per our company policies.

Are you available on evenings and weekends?

Our practitioners offer a range of availability to support the needs of our clients. Please refer to our therapist directory to match with a therapist that suits your schedule. We offer weekend and evening availability!

What if it’s an emergency?

If you’re in an emergency, it is recommended that you seek medical attention at your local Emergency Department, call 9-1-1, or the crisis centre (310-6789). For additional resources please refer to our crisis resource page on the website.

Do you do online counselling?

Yes. Gather & Ground is a virtual based clinic and promotes doing the healing work in the comfort of your own home. Studies show that efficacy is just as high with virtual work and the hundred of clients that have come through G&G have proven that!
